Questions people ask
Who will come to my house?
An independent garage door company that works in your part of Monmouth County. We only work with companies that are registered with the State of New Jersey and carry liability insurance. Feel free to ask for their registration number; every legitimate home improvement contractor in New Jersey has one.
Does it cost anything to call?
No, calling is free. If the garage door company charges for a service call or estimate, they'll tell you before they come out.
Can I use the door while it's broken?
Usually it's best not to. If a spring is broken, a cable has snapped or the door is crooked or off its track, running the opener or forcing the door can make the damage worse, and a heavy door can fall. Leave it where it is, keep people and pets away from it, and call us. There's more on our broken spring page.
My car is stuck in the garage. What should I do?
Say so when you call, and the garage door company can tell you how soon they can get there. Don't try to lift a door with a broken spring by hand or prop it open; it's far heavier than it looks.
Do I need a written contract?
For most jobs, yes. In New Jersey, home improvement work costing more than $500 needs a written contract, and it should include the contractor's state registration number.
